Synergy utilized standard HTML, along with VBScript as server-side processing and Jscript as client-side processing to develop a 3-tier, ASP based, custom-written e-commerce and shopping cart system for this culinary professional web site offering free online recipes and cooking instruction, along with pre-recorded online videos, viewable upon purchase. A MS SQL Server database was designed and implemented for storing all recipes, video links, customer/member information and purchase data.<br><br> The e-commerce model offers multiple purchase options including unlimited access to all videos through a purchased membership, plus a party planning option allowing a user to prepay for access to several recipe videos for a group of dinner party guests. An automatic email notification module sends each guest an invitation enabling them to login and select a video for the dish they wish to prepare and bring to the party.<br><br> A complex user authentication system was also developed to track user, member, and party guest log-ins and assign the appropriate access rights to the proper accounts and log-in situations. Site development also included the integration of additional marketing tools such as a guest book and email newsletter subscription, plus an administrative interface for the site
